About me

I was introduced to the world of programming in 2016 through a Java-based course called IT-145: Foundations In App Development, a requirement of my degree program. I had no previous background or knowledge in programming, and I struggled mightily through this course, but it piqued my interest enough to get me hooked.

Soon after, I discovered Python while looking for a more beginner-friendly programming language. I spent a little time learning that on my own before additional required courses in web and mobile app design and development, where I became more comfortable and interested, steered me down the path of web development.

While those formal classes proved to be a great catalyst, most of my knowledge and experience since then has come from self-directed courses and tutorials and a strong passion for learning more. Since 2016 I have explored both front-end and back-end web development, and I’ve circled back around to Python for games, automation, and machine learning. I am continuously looking to expand my skills and knowledge and grow my toolset, and I love working on projects, big or small, that force me to learn something new.
